In the last rehearsal before the KMT Final Four, ‘Žalgiris’ easily defeated the team from Kėdainiai
‘Žalgiris’ secured a comfortable win against Kėdainiai in their final match-up before the KMT Final Four.
In a preparatory game leading up to the KMT Final Four, the Kaunas basketball team, ‘Žalgiris’, faced off against Kėdainiai and quickly established their dominance. Despite a strong start from the home team, who led 10-2, ‘Žalgiris’ managed to turn the tide in their favor within minutes, taking the lead at 18-16. By the second quarter, they built an impressive lead of 42-23, although Kėdainiai fought back to narrow the gap to 29-42 before halftime despite Laimonas Eglinskas receiving two technical fouls and being ejected from the game.
After the break, Kėdainiai attempted to stage a comeback, coming within nine points at 48-59, but ‘Žalgiris’ quickly reasserted themselves, extending their lead back to 68-50. The game was sealed decisively in the final quarter when ‘Žalgiris’ went on a scoring spree and created a substantial advantage of 82-50. Coach T. Masiulis took this opportunity to let young players from the system showcase their skills, culminating in a more than convincing victory for the Kaunas team.
