Poland will provide Ukraine with 3.8 million euros in energy assistance

Poland announces a 3.8 million euro aid package for Ukraine's energy sector amid ongoing attacks on its infrastructure by Russia.

The Polish embassy has reported on the social network 'X' about the initiative 'Heat from Poland to Kyiv', which has successfully raised over 10.2 million zlotys (approximately 2.4 million euros) to support Ukraine's energy needs. Additionally, 5.74 million zlotys (about 1.4 million euros) was collected from the collections of the Archdiocese of Krakow's churches along with donations from the Catholic charity organization Caritas following a call from the Krakow metropolitan archbishop for support for Kyiv residents.

The embassy also highlighted that Poland's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Government Strategic Reserves Agency have supplied Ukraine with nearly 1,000 electric generators and heaters to help alleviate the energy crisis exacerbated by increased Russian attacks on critical infrastructure. This assistance underlines Poland's commitment to supporting Ukraine amidst the ongoing conflict and the urgent need for energy resources as winter approaches.

The announcement comes in the wake of intensified Russian assaults on Ukrainian critical infrastructure in recent weeks, contradicting pressure from the United States for peace negotiations. Poland's aid reflects not only a humanitarian gesture but also a strategic move to maintain stability in the region, supporting Ukraine against external aggression and addressing immediate energy vulnerabilities during the harsh winter months.
