Mantra to Save Jobs in the Age of AI, Always Follow These Three Things

The India Today AI Summit discussed how AI may impact job availability and emphasized three key strategies for job preservation: reskilling, asking questions, and embracing change.

During the India Today AI Summit 2026, a session took place exploring whether AI will eliminate jobs or create new ones. Industry leaders, including Amrit Acharya, CEO of Jetwork, Nitin Mittal, Global AI Leader at Deloitte, Riju Datta, co-founder of Cashfree Payments, and Sunil Gupta, CEO of Yotta Data Services, participated in the discussion. Nitin Mittal highlighted that to stay relevant in the AI era, professionals should focus on reskilling, asking questions, and adapting to changes in the industry.

Sunil Gupta emphasized that while AI will take over many tasks in the coming years, reducing the need for human workers in certain sectors, the demand for human input will still exist in others. He drew parallels with the impact of UPI (Unified Payments Interface) on daily life, noting that AI will introduce various innovations that will create jobs in sectors ranging from agriculture to manufacturing. Each sector will have different applications for AI, reflecting a transformation in the labor market.

Amrit Acharya reinforced the notion that while jobs will be affected by AI, the overall outcome can be beneficial if individuals adapt through skill development and remain open to change. The discussions at the summit highlighted the balance between the risks posed by AI and the opportunities it presents for job creation, urging professionals to prepare for the future.
