Details reveal that the victim married Shivam Sahu on May 10, 2025, but soon faced harassment related to dowry demands. The woman's family reported that at the time of marriage, a demand of approximately 300,000 rupees was made, out of which 200,000 rupees were given, yet the husband's pressure for the remaining amount persisted. Allegedly, in December 2025, the husband recorded a private video of his wife and distributed it across social media platforms as well as to relatives. When the victim resisted, he reportedly threatened to defame her further.
Moreover, police investigations have uncovered that the accused had an addiction to watching inappropriate content online, which may have played a role in his destructive actions. Following the incident, the perpetrator fled to Mumbai, adding complexity to the legal pursuit in this case.
