At the Milano Cortina Olympics, American skier Mikaela Shiffrin achieved a remarkable feat by securing her second Olympic gold medal in women's slalom. She dominated the race with a stellar first run time of 47.13 seconds, finishing 0.82 seconds ahead of Germany's Lena Dürr, while the rest of the field trailed significantly behind. In her second run, Shiffrin registered the second-fastest time, clocking 51.97 seconds, just behind her teammate Paula Moltzan, who set a time of 51.39 seconds. This consistent performance led to a combined winning time of 1:39.10, making Shiffrin only the second woman ever to win two Olympic gold medals in slalom, following the Swiss skier Vreni Schneider.
