Local and Long-Distance Transport: No Train Service Between Grafrath and Geltendorf for Ten Days
Train services between Grafrath and Geltendorf will be suspended from February 23 to March 4 for maintenance work on railway switches.
From February 23 to March 4, all train services, including S-Bahn, regional, and long-distance trains, will be halted between Grafrath and Geltendorf due to maintenance on four railway switches at Geltendorf station. During this period, only two platform tracks will be available at Geltendorf, and trains can only operate as diesel-powered services between Geltendorf and Kaufering because the overhead line will be deactivated.
Travelers will need to find alternative transport, as the S-Bahn will terminate at Grafrath, and bus services will be provided from there to Geltendorf. Furthermore, regional train services RB 74 between Munich and Geltendorf and RE 70 trains between Fürstenfeldbruck and Geltendorf will also be cancelled. Passengers must rely on express buses that operate without stops between Geltendorf and Fürstenfeldbruck to continue their journeys during this maintenance period.
Additionally, trains on the RE 72 and RE 96 lines from Arverio will be unable to operate between Buchloe and Munich. The railway company has confirmed these disruptions, emphasizing the necessity of this maintenance work for ensuring the reliability and safety of train operations in the region. Travelers are urged to plan accordingly to avoid inconvenience during this ten-day service interruption.
