UK's top film-streaming city named as Brits watch over four days of movies
A new study highlights that Brits watch over four days of films annually, with Bath emerging as the top city for film streaming.
In a recent survey conducted by EE, it has been revealed that British adults watch an average of 60 films a year, which totals to more than four days dedicated solely to movie watching. The trend of streaming has dominated viewing habits, allowing individuals to enjoy films predominantly in the comfort of their homes. Respondents cited benefits such as being able to pause movies, adjusting volume levels, and enjoying a relaxed viewing environment.
Interestingly, while the preference for home viewing is clear, about 24% of the participants expressed a desire to watch movies on the go, particularly highlighting the importance of mobile devices when it comes to entertainment during travel. These insights indicate a dual approach to film consumption, where home comforts and portability both play vital roles in how films are experienced by the public.
As we look forward to the upcoming EE BAFTA Film Awards on February 22, this survey not only showcases the love for cinema among the Brits but also positions Bath as the leading city in terms of film streaming, underscoring the cityβs cultural engagement with the film industry. This emerging trend reflects a shift in the entertainment landscape, emphasizing the growing importance of technological access to cinematic experiences.
