Disgraceful System in MP: Applicant Crawls into Collector's Office

An applicant crawled into the Collector's office during a public hearing in Dindori, Madhya Pradesh, highlighting serious administrative insensitivity.

In the Dindori district headquarters of Madhya Pradesh, an alarming incident unfolded during a public hearing, raising serious questions about the administrative sensitivity of local authorities. An applicant, Umeshwar Singh Thakur, crawled into the Collector's office out of desperation, which prompted security personnel to attempt to assist him. Frustrated and angry, the applicant voiced his grievances loudly, drawing attention to his plight at the public event.

Umeshwar Singh Thakur accused local revenue officials and the village Patwari of ignoring his multiple applications regarding the demarcation of his ancestral land, which has been encroached upon by his uncle. Despite his continuous efforts to seek justice over several years, his complaints have been ignored, leading him to resort to crawling into the Collector's office to make his appeal heard. When the District Panchayat CEO, Divyanshu Chaudhary, intervened, he assured the applicant that his issue would be addressed and listened to his concerns.

Thakur has since made it clear that if he does not receive justice within a week, he plans to protest on the streets with his family. This incident underscores a broader issue of accountability and responsiveness in local governance, reflecting a desperate need for reform in how public grievances are handled in India.
