Shiffrin confidently leads, Ljutić far behind, Popović in good spirits

Mikaela Shiffrin leads the women's slalom event at the Winter Olympics, with Croatian skiers Zrinka Ljutić and Leona Popović facing significant time deficits.

At the Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina, the women's slalom skiing event is taking place, marking the final discipline in alpine skiing. Three Croatian competitors are participating, with Zrinka Ljutić being the first to race down the Olympia delle Tofane course. Despite showing a solid performance, she finished with a time that places her two seconds and 17 hundredths behind the leading American skier, Mikaela Shiffrin.

Leona Popović started later in the competition and demonstrated strong skiing skills, finishing just behind Ljutić but also facing a considerable deficit of two seconds and 42 hundredths to Shiffrin. Meanwhile, Pia Vučinić, who ranked 74th out of 95 skiers entered for the first run, will have a challenging climb to catch up. The rankings reflect a competitive atmosphere with Shiffrin setting a commanding pace.
