Long-term forecast for Poland. The meteorologist reveals his cards. "Cold tongue"
Poland is facing unpredictable winter weather with upcoming snowstorms and temperatures dropping to -20 degrees Celsius, according to meteorologist Arleta Unton-Pyziołek.
A recent analysis by TVN Meteo's meteorologist Arleta Unton-Pyziołek indicates that Poland will experience unpredictable weather due to dynamic low-pressure vortices until around February 25. During this period, the country can expect regular occurrences of both snowstorms and rain. As February progresses, a high-pressure system is projected to develop, stretching from North Africa to Siberia, indicating a shift in weather patterns.
By March 1, Central Europe and the Balkans could face a 'cold tongue' descending from the depths of the Russian Arctic, suggesting that winter's grip on the area is far from over. The extent of the cold is still uncertain, but indications show that the region will not warm up soon. Unton-Pyziołek expects that another cold wave will hit by the end of the week, seeing temperatures plunge to -10/-12 degrees Celsius in northern and eastern Poland, while the west and south may see temperatures rise close to 10 degrees.
Two waves of snow are anticipated after February 20, starting with the first on Saturday in northern Poland. This unpredictable weather pattern not only affects daily life but also implies potential disruptions in various sectors, including agriculture and transportation, emphasizing the need for preparedness in facing severe winter conditions throughout Poland.
