However, she cautioned against the technology's propensity for hallucination, where it may sometimes provide incorrect information. Bartoletti underscored that rather than debating AI's power, the essential question should focus on how to ensure its safety and reliability, indicating a need for foundational design principles around security and resilience.

Bartoletti stressed that building trust is paramount when integrating artificial intelligence tools and agents into people's lives. She argued that if an AI agent accesses a person's private information, the ultimate decision should be in the hands of the individual, who must retain the right to say 'YES' or 'NO'. This ownership of decision-making is crucial, as AI systems should be designed to operate only with explicit consent and permission, ensuring they never impose unwanted interactions on users.

In her remarks on governance, Bartoletti explained that AI governance should extend beyond mere compliance with regulations and laws. Coming from a legal background, she highlighted that genuine governance includes establishing frameworks that not only adhere to the law but also prioritize user safety and ethical considerations in AI technologies, which is fundamental as these innovations become increasingly integrated into everyday life.
