Trump's presidential plane is being repainted in gold and red
The United States Air Force is rolling out a new design for its fleet, including a new Air Force One painted in red, white, dark blue, and gold, replacing the previous colors from the Kennedy administration.
The United States Air Force has announced a new redesign of its fleet that includes the new Air Force One, which will be painted in a vibrant palette of red, white, dark blue, and gold. This change marks a significant departure from the original color scheme of white and blue introduced during President John F. Kennedy's administration. The decision to adopt these new colors was influenced by a proposal from former President Donald Trump, though earlier iterations of the design had been rejected by the Air Force due to concerns over overheating caused by the darker hues.
The military designation VC-25B, which refers to a new aircraft based on the Boeing 747-8i, will be among those repainted to serve as the official presidential plane. Additionally, four modified Boeing 757-200 aircraft will also receive this new color scheme. These planes are critical as they are used to transport the vice president, government officials, members of Congress, and other high-ranking officials, making them an essential part of the U.S. governmentβs aviation fleet.
This redesign not only reflects a change in aesthetic preferences but also highlights the ongoing legacy of Trump's administration in influencing military branding and symbolism, particularly in how the presidency is visually represented. The new paint jobs will be implemented at various times in the coming months, showcasing a shift toward a more striking and personalized imagery for the United States' presidential travel.
