CM Yogi will meet Mohan Bhagwat today! RSS active in UP before 2027
Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to meet RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat as part of the preparations for the upcoming elections in 2027, with the RSS increasing its activities in the state.
In light of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections next year, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is strategizing for a potential third consecutive term in 2027. To strengthen its grassroots presence, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has become highly active, with its chief, Mohan Bhagwat, currently on a tour of Uttar Pradesh. Following a visit to Gorakhpur, Bhagwat arrived in Lucknow, where he is expected to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This meeting comes at a critical juncture as both the BJP and RSS look to consolidate their influence ahead of the elections.
Mohan Bhagwat's visit to Lucknow is significant, especially as it coincides with the centenary celebrations of the RSS. During this two-day visit, Bhagwat is focusing on organizational expansion and fostering social harmony. He stressed the importance of unity among Hindus in a recent social harmony meeting held at the Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Nirala Nagar, where he encouraged the community to come together and be stronger.
Bhagwat emphasized that all public spaces, including temples, wells, and cremation grounds, should remain accessible to all Hindus without discrimination. His call for inclusivity reflects the RSS's long-standing agenda of promoting Hindu unity, which it views as essential for political mobilization. The impending meeting with CM Yogi is expected to solidify these goals further, shaping the political landscape leading into the elections.
