Stakeholders praise APGA’s peaceful local government chairmanship primaries
Stakeholders in Anambra State have praised the All Progressive Grand Alliance for conducting peaceful and transparent chairmanship primaries in the Ihiala Local Government Area.
The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) recently held its chairmanship primaries in Ihiala Local Government Area, Anambra State, where stakeholders applauded the process as being 'free, transparent, and peaceful.' This commendation reflects the impact of Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo's leadership style, which is noted for its transparency and commitment to democratic processes. Stakeholders, including Chief Vincent Eziaka, emphasized that the orderly conduct of the primaries is indicative of the party's strength and cohesion in the region.
The primaries, held across all 21 local government areas of Anambra State, culminated in the re-election of the incumbent chairman, Charles Orjiakor, who was declared unopposed. Eziaka articulated that Orjiakor’s re-election stems from his reliability and the trust placed in him by the community. He stressed the importance of the zoning system utilized within the Ihiala council area, which fosters understanding among the stakeholders and enhances the political landscape.
This successful primary event is not only a positive sign for the APGA but also sets the stage for the upcoming local government elections scheduled for August 29, 2026. The dedication shown by party members and the government in organizing a transparent electoral process may boost public confidence in local governance and highlight the effectiveness of APGA's leadership at the grassroots level.
