Africa-Caribbean summit targets $40tn market access

The upcoming Africa-Caribbean Investment Summit aims to provide a platform for unlocking access to a combined market worth $40 trillion for businesses from Africa and the Caribbean.

The second edition of the Africa-Caribbean Investment Summit (AACIS 26) is set to take place in Abuja from March 23 to 28, 2026, with a focus on facilitating access to a combined market estimated at $40 trillion. This summit aims to serve as a structured platform for businesses in African and Caribbean nations to forge partnerships and promote cross-border investments, enhancing their economic collaborations.

Ms. Serumun Ubwa, Chief of Staff at Aquarium Consult Limited, outlined the initiative's purpose during a press briefing where she emphasized the need for authentic partnerships between Nigerian businesses and their Caribbean counterparts. Over the past 16 years, the initiative has evolved, reflecting deep insights into the originality of Nigerian enterprises and highlighting the importance of fostering international dialogues and collaborations.

The summit is expected to expand opportunities for both regions by promoting discussions that lead to substantial investments and partnerships. By encouraging meaningful interactions between the two regions, stakeholders believe that the summit can significantly contribute to stronger economic ties and shared growth, positioning both Africa and the Caribbean as attractive markets on the global stage.
