At the São Paulo carnival, Tom Maior, whose theme revolved around the life and legacy of the famous Brazilian medium Chico Xavier, managed to secure 6th place in the competition. The school celebrated the cultural identity of Uberaba, a city with indigenous roots known for its purity of water, showcasing various elements that represent this heritage, including the iconic zebu cattle.
Mocidade Alegre emerged as the champion of the event after a narrow victory, finishing with 269.8 points, just ahead of Gaviões da Fiel, which received 269.7 points. The competition saw some established names like Rosas de Ouro and Águia de Ouro relegated to the access group, indicating a significant shift in the carnival standings.
