Grecia Quiroz denounces the political enemies of Carlos Manzo: "come and face us"
Grecia Quiroz, mayor of Uruapan, Michoacán, filed a formal complaint against political adversaries of her late husband Carlos Manzo, urging them to come forward and declare their innocence regarding his murder.
Grecia Quiroz García, the mayor of Uruapan, Michoacán, publicly denounced the political enemies of her husband, Carlos Alberto Manzo Rodríguez, nearly four months after he was murdered. In her statement to the Attorney General's Office, Quiroz emphasized that her husband had previously filed formal complaints against notable political figures, including Raúl Morón and Leonel Godoy. She is determined to seek justice for her husband and believes that those who are innocent should come forward and testify.
During a press conference accompanied by members of the so-called Movement of the Sombrero and local supporters, Quiroz claimed to have sufficient evidence that could lead to the summoning of the accused politicians for questioning. She challenged them to declare their innocence, implying that if they had nothing to hide regarding her husband’s murder, they should willingly participate in the investigation to clarify their involvement, or lack thereof.
This denunciation has significant implications within the political landscape of Michoacán, where tensions are high following Manzo's assassination. The case raises questions about political responsibility and the contentious dynamics between public officials in the region. It highlights concerns over safety and accountability in local governance, as well as the influence of political rivalries that may intertwine with criminal activities in the area.
