Chivas will not have their selected players for the entire Liga MX playoffs

Chivas will be without their national team players during the entire playoffs of Liga MX's Clausura 2026 due to upcoming World Cup preparations.

Chivas de Guadalajara, one of the most prominent football clubs in Mexico, has officially announced that they will not have any of their national team players available for the Liga MX playoffs of the Clausura 2026 tournament. This decision comes after Duilio Davino, the director of the National Teams, announced in a press conference that the Mexican national team will begin its concentration for the 2026 World Cup on May 6, just before the conclusion of the Liga MX regular season. As a result, the team will only have their full roster until the 17th matchday, with their last game before the playoffs occurring on April 25 against Xolos de Tijuana at Estadio Akron.
