A new heart may offer new hope for a two-year-old boy from Naples who underwent a heart transplant last December but whose organ was damaged.

A two-year-old boy from Naples, who received a heart transplant last December, may have new hope as doctors have identified a potential new heart. Patrizia Mercolino, the child's mother, was summoned by the medical team at the Monaldi Hospital in Naples to discuss the availability of the new organ, although compatibility has yet to be confirmed. Currently, the boy has been reliant on ECMO support for over fifty days, maintaining stable albeit grave health conditions while awaiting a decision regarding a second transplant.
