Dismantled in Girona a factory that made 4 million fake perfumes a year

The police dismantled a major factory in Girona responsible for producing four million fake perfumes annually, leading to the arrest of seven individuals and investigations into eleven others.

In a significant crackdown on counterfeit goods, the police in Girona, Spain, have dismantled what is believed to be the largest fake perfume factory in Europe. This operation, known as Operation Fragile, was carried out by agents from the Customs Surveillance Service (SVA) and the Mossos d’Esquadra, in collaboration with the French Customs authorities. The factory had the capacity to produce and distribute an astounding four million counterfeit perfumes each year, amounting to 16,000 fakes each day. The operation has resulted in seven arrests, while eleven additional individuals are under investigation for their involvement in criminal organization, smuggling, and violations of industrial property rights.
