US police: family members are not suspected in the kidnapping of missing TV presenter’s mother
Federal investigators have increased the reward for information regarding the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, stating that her family is no longer considered suspects in the case.
The disappearance of Nancy Guthrie from her home in southwestern Arizona was reported on February 1. Following the report, federal investigators raised the reward for information that could help locate her or apprehend those responsible for her potential abduction to $100,000. The FBI has released images and video footage showing an individual wearing a mask approaching Guthrie's home on the night of the kidnapping, but they have not yet identified any suspects in the case.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos clarified on Monday that investigators have removed family members of N. Guthrie from the list of potential suspects. In a statement released on social media platform X, he emphasized, "We want to be clear: the Guthrie family – including all siblings and spouses – have been cleared from suspicion in this case," highlighting that the family has been cooperative and helpful throughout the investigation.
The focus now shifts to finding evidence that leads to the whereabouts of Nancy Guthrie. As the investigation continues, the involvement of the community becomes crucial in assisting law enforcement, as the raised reward aims to stimulate tips and clues that could bring about a resolution to this troubling case. The heightened attention from media and authorities could also shed light on any additional leads that may arise as the investigation unfolds.
