Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny has reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time with his solo song 'DtMF'.
Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny has made history by achieving his first solo number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his track 'DtMF' from the album 'DebΓ Tirar MΓ‘s Fotos', which won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 2026. Prior to this, Bad Bunny had featured on the chart in 2018 through a collaborative effort on Cardi B's song 'I Like It' alongside J Balvin, marking his first appearance on the prestigious chart.
The breakthrough for 'DtMF' came after Bad Bunny's highly publicized performance during the Super Bowl halftime show, which propelled the song from the tenth to the top position on the Hot 100. Released in January 2025, the track previously reached second place on the chart, but the Super Bowl performance clearly boosted its visibility and popularity among listeners. Additionally, two other songs from the same album saw significant climbs on the chart, with 'Baile Inolvidable' rising to the second position and 'Nuevayol' launching to fifth.
Bad Bunny's continued success on the Billboard charts not only highlights his growing influence in the music industry but also symbolizes the rising popularity of Latin music on the global stage. This achievement reinforces the impact of high-profile performances on music consumption and suggests that future collaborations or performances could further enhance the visibility of Latin artists in mainstream music markets.
