The incident, which occurred in the Santo Antônio neighborhood on the night of Sunday the 15th, was recorded by a security camera. The victim, an educator by profession, reported that she was walking home around 11:30 PM with a friend who was ahead of her when a stranger approached and touched her inappropriately. Alarmed, she screamed for help, prompting her friend to chase the assailant, who managed to escape.

The victim described the assailant as having smiled before fleeing and not uttering a word during the encounter. A young man seen in the footage attempting to assist the women reportedly heard their screams and is known to one of the victims. Following the incident, the victim filed a report through the national hotline for reporting gender-based violence and is expected to provide further testimony on the following Thursday.
