The Funceme issued heavy rain alerts for the state of Ceará for the next two days, warning of potential thunderstorms and strong winds.
The Cearense Foundation of Meteorology and Water Resources (Funceme) has issued two alerts for heavy rains in the state of Ceará, valid on Tuesday, October 17, and Wednesday, October 18. The first alert is active from 1 PM to 11 PM on Tuesday, while the second one is from 10 PM Tuesday until 9 AM on Wednesday. Meteorologists are cautioning that, in addition to heavy precipitation, there is a risk of thunderstorms and wind gusts that could affect various regions.
The heavy rain is expected to be concentrated mainly in the northwestern part of Ceará, covering macrorregions such as Litoral Norte, Litoral do Pecém, and Ibiapaba. Specifically, municipalities such as Acaraú, Sobral, Itapipoca, São Gonçalo do Amarante, Tianguá, and Ubajara are at a potential risk (20% to 40%) for adverse weather events during this period. The residents are being alerted to seek safety measures as these adverse conditions could lead to disruptions and damage in the affected areas.
