Violanta: "I am responsible for what happens from now on" – A third factory under scrutiny

Authorities are investigating a third unit of Violanta in Makrychori, Larissa, focusing on safety regulations compliance.

Greek authorities are currently scrutinizing a third unit of the Violanta company located in Makrychori, Larissa, amid ongoing investigations by the Fire Department and regional authorities to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Inspection teams are thoroughly checking the premises and certification documents to assess whether all established legal safety standards are being observed.

In the course of these investigations, a plumber from Trikala revealed to ertnews that he was called by the owner to connect an external tank with a capacity of approximately 5,000 liters to the building. He stated that a trench about one meter deep had already been dug from the tank to the foundations of the industrial facility and that he was asked to install a pipe measuring between 8 to 10 meters for the connection. The plumber suggested reinforcing the channel with concrete at both the base and sides to prevent the pipeline from coming into contact with the ground and proposed adding a metal manhole for easier access and inspection.

However, the plumber claims he was met with resistance regarding his safety suggestions, which raises concerns about compliance with safety measures and the potential implications for the company's operations. This scrutiny reflects broader regulatory oversight following safety incidents in the region and underscores the importance placed on industrial safety in Greece as authorities aim to prevent future hazards.
