Tesco announces major home delivery change starting next week

Tesco is set to increase its home delivery and Click+Collect slots in preparation for the Easter holiday, introducing 120,000 additional slots starting from February 24.

Tesco, the largest supermarket chain in the UK, has announced a significant change to its home delivery and Click+Collect services ahead of the Easter holiday. This change aims to accommodate the heightened demand expected during this busy time of year. For the first time, customers will be able to book six weeks' worth of slots, covering the entirety of the Easter school holiday period, which falls over the weekend of April 4-5 this year.

The retailer will make an additional 120,000 slots available, increasing accessibility for customers who rely on these services for their grocery needs. Jillian Lidgate, Tesco's online customer director, emphasized the importance of this adjustment in helping customers better plan their Easter celebrations. The additional slots will become available for booking starting February 24 and are expected to be in high demand, reinforcing Tesco's commitment to adapting to consumer needs during peak periods.

This move comes amid a broader trend of supermarkets enhancing their delivery services to better meet customer expectations, especially in the wake of increased online shopping habits that have emerged in recent years. By strategically expanding its delivery capabilities, Tesco aims to maintain its competitive advantage in the retail market while ensuring customer satisfaction during the bustling Easter season.
