M. Kalnietis laments the fire caused by fans: 'We couldn't celebrate properly'
Mantas Kalnietis expressed disappointment over an incident where a fire, caused by pyrotechnics, disrupted a recent football match, leading to an evacuation of fans.
During a football match in Marijampolė, a fire broke out due to the use of pyrotechnics by fans, necessitating the evacuation of attendees from the venue. The incident was quickly controlled, and thankfully, it did not escalate further. Mantas Kalnietis, president of the Kauno Žalgirio football club, emphasized the team's disappointment in not being able to celebrate their victory and trophy with their supporters due to this disruption.
Following the incident, Kauno Žalgirio club authorized the team to transfer their training sessions to Kaunas, facilitating support to the Marijampolės Sūduva club, affected by the event. Kalnietis stressed the importance of collaboration among the involved parties, including Sūduva's management, organizers of the event, and the fans themselves, in addressing the aftermath of this unfortunate occurrence.
