2027: Oyo LP confident of victory, dismisses factional crisis

The Labour Party in Oyo State has expressed confidence in its prospects for the 2027 elections, dismissing reports of internal factional disputes.

The Labour Party in Oyo State has publicly dismissed claims of a factional crisis within its ranks, asserting its confidence in achieving victory in the upcoming 2027 general elections. Mr. Fatai Ojetunde, the General Secretary of the Oyo State Labour Party, shared this optimism during a press conference held in Ibadan. He emphasized that the party is unified in its preparations and remains steadfast, despite broader national-level discussions about alleged factional disagreements.

Ojetunde specifically addressed the concerns regarding national factions, such as those associated with figures like Nenadi and Aburi, and assured party members and supporters that these issues would be resolved in the near future. He affirmed that the Oyo chapter of the Labour Party operates without internal conflicts and confirmed the leadership of Mr. Rasheed Atayese as the state chairman, following a series of successful recent congresses leading up to local government elections.

The General Secretary also welcomed individuals who wish to join the party, indicating that the Labour Party is open to expanding its base as it gears up for the electoral battles ahead. With important election dates approaching, the party is focusing on consolidating its strength in Oyo State, building momentum and community support necessary to ensure a favorable outcome in the 2027 elections.
