This match marked Sinner's return to the court after his recent experience at the Australian Open, where he faced a painful loss to Novak Djokovic in the semifinals. In this opening match in Doha, Sinner dominated the first set by winning six games against Macháč, allowing the Czech player only a single game before concluding the set at 6-1.

The second set proved to be a bit more competitive; however, Sinner managed to break Macháč's serve at 2-2 and maintained his lead until the end without allowing a comeback. He closed the match with a final score of 6-1, 6-4, taking just over an hour. Sinner demonstrated strong serving skills throughout the match, recording six aces and no double faults, while Macháč struggled with four double faults, highlighting the different levels of performance between the two players.
