A 28-year-old driver, João Paulo Costa do Nascimento, was arrested after running over physiotherapist Thiago Dias Camilo in the early hours of Sunday, October 15. Police reported that Nascimento exhibited signs of intoxication at the time of his arrest and he is now facing charges of aggravated bodily injury due to intoxication. He was also reportedly wearing an electronic ankle bracelet indicative of being under penal supervision, suggesting a serious breach of his legal conditions.
