A tragic accident occurred on BR-459 in Pouso Alegre, Minas Gerais, where a father and his five-year-old son lost their lives in a head-on collision involving their car and a truck. The accident took place on the evening of Monday, October 16, with emergency services being notified shortly thereafter. According to the local fire department, the collision happened near kilometer 107, involving a Parati car from São Gonçalo do Sapucaí and a truck registered in Caxambu. Preliminary information about the circumstances of the crash has yet to be disclosed.
The victims were identified as the 27-year-old father, who was trapped in the wreckage, and his young son, who was found in the back seat of the vehicle. Rescue teams, including a medical professional from the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu), confirmed their deaths at the scene. In contrast, the truck driver, who was the sole occupant of his vehicle, was reported to be conscious and uninjured, opting out of any pre-hospital treatment.
