Distillers in Nigeria, represented by the Food, Beverage and Tobacco Senior Staff Association, have once again staged a protest outside the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). This marks the fifth such protest in 2026, demonstrating the industry's frustration over the agency's ongoing sealing of their companies in response to a controversial ban on sachet alcohol beverages and PET bottles smaller than 200ml. The protesters, including both junior and senior staff, have expressed their concerns about job losses and the negative impact on local manufacturers through placards and chants.
