Andrius Mamontovas presents two creative news

Andrius Mamontovas has released a vinyl compilation of his greatest songs, capturing different stages of his solo career, along with plans for a sequel album.

Andrius Mamontovas, a prominent Lithuanian musician, has unveiled a new vinyl compilation titled "Geriausios dainos. I dalis" featuring 20 of his standout songs recorded over various phases of his solo career, from the era of tape recorders to modern digital studios. He notes that each period carries its own sound, requiring meticulous work to unify the tracks into a consistent format. To achieve this, some songs, including notable hits like "Saulės miestą" and "Tavo svajonę", were adapted specifically for both vinyl and radio formats, presenting a unique challenge for the artist.

Mamontovas reflects on the complexity involved in selecting tracks for the compilation, highlighting the changes in how popular songs are measured today. Instead of relying solely on traditional music charts, he utilized streaming data from various platforms to curate a mix that resonated with audiences. Due to the extensive catalog of his music accumulated over thirty years, he indicates that not all selections could be included in this initial release, paving the way for a sequel album in the future.

Additionally, the vinyl's cover art was designed by his nephew Augustas, a young artist and designer currently residing in France. The creative collaboration is part of a broader narrative in Mamontovas’ work, reflecting not only on his musical legacy but also on intergenerational artistic connections as he embarks on this new chapter in his career.
