On Tuesday morning, a public farewell ceremony for the esteemed Czech actress Jana Brejchová took place at the Lucerna cinema in Prague's Václavské náměstí. Fans and admirers were invited to honor her memory at the memorial site until 1:00 PM. Brejchová, who passed away on February 6 at the age of 86 after a prolonged illness, was remembered by family and close friends in a private funeral service held on Monday, attended by around twenty individuals. The cinema's hall featured a memorial adorned with numerous flowers, including a wreath from President Petr Pavel and his wife, along with a tribute from the State Fund of Audiovisual Culture. Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to express their condolences in a guestbook, while a video montage showcasing Brejchová's film career played on the cinema screen. Renowned filmmaker Eva Toulová was among the attendees, who spoke fondly of Brejchová as an icon of Czech cinema and highlighted her favorite film, "Noc na Karlštejně," as particularly meaningful.
