On the guarantee fund and legal protection, the Council says no

The opposition councilors in Milan have presented a motion to the administration regarding blocked construction projects, but the majority has blocked it.

Following an extraordinary council meeting on urban planning, opposition councilors in Milan introduced a detailed motion aimed at urging the administration to take a definitive stance on construction sites that have been stalled for nearly two years. Currently, there are four construction sites under seizure and over 150 projects under investigation, with a demolition order issued by the municipality for a building on via Fauchè, which was found to violate building regulations as per a ruling by the State Council. Despite this significant issue, the ruling majority has effectively blocked any progress on the matter.

The motion was presented by the Brothers of Italy (Fdi) and garnered support from other opposition parties including Lega, Forza Italia, and Noi Moderati. The proposal outlines a plan to assist the legal expenses of approximately 4,000 families who are in limbo—those who have purchased homes that are either unfinished, yet to be built, or under seizure. Furthermore, the motion calls for a "super resolution" in the city council that would categorize each problematic case and suggest administrative solutions to address the impasse and alleviate the situation of affected families.

This ongoing debate highlights the significant concern over urban development and housing stability in Milan, with numerous families caught in a precarious situation due to legal disputes and construction freezes. The response from the administration will be crucial to determine the future actions taken to resolve these issues, as many citizens are eager for clarity and resolution regarding their housing situations.
