Enagás Overcomes Losses with a Net Profit of 339 Million in 2025

Enagás reports a net profit of 339 million euros in 2025, recovering from significant losses in 2024.

Enagás, the Spanish gas system manager, has announced a remarkable recovery in its financial performance for the year 2025, reporting a net profit of 339 million euros. This is a significant rebound compared to the previous year's losses of -299.3 million euros, predominantly caused by the accounting losses associated with the sale of Tallgrass Energy and a ruling from the GSP. The company managed to overcome these financial challenges, reflecting a more positive outlook in the volatile energy market.

Despite the recovery, Enagás noted that its recurring profit reached 266.3 million euros, which is a 14.1% decrease from 2024, exclusive of the impacts from asset rotations. The gross operating profit (EBITDA) for the year was recorded at 675.7 million euros, showing an 11.2% decline. The CEO, Artuto Gonzalo, indicated that the performance surpasses the previous forecasts for the year, hinting at a restructuring or strategic pivot aimed at stabilizing and improving the financial health of the company.

The company's recovery is significant not only for its stakeholders but also for the broader Spanish energy market, which has faced multiple challenges in recent years. As Enagás reestablishes its financial footing, it could signal a return of investor confidence and a more robust operational framework moving forward. Furthermore, the impacts of their performance will likely resonate within regulatory bodies, as they monitor the stability and management of energy infrastructure in Spain, particularly post-pandemic and during ongoing global energy transitions.
