Trains are significantly delayed on the Tukums line on Tuesday morning
Train services on the Tukums line in Latvia are experiencing significant delays due to railway infrastructure issues.
On Tuesday morning, significant delays were reported on the Tukums train line in Latvia, according to information released by the state-owned carrier "Pasažieru vilciens" (PV), operating under the brand "Vivi". The delays are attributed to issues with the railway infrastructure, causing various trains to arrive late, with some experiencing delays of up to 70 minutes. Specific routes affected include the train from Rīga to Dubulti and from Sloka to Rīga, both of which faced considerable service interruptions.
Train schedules indicate a range of delays, with the Rīga-Dubulti train scheduled for 6.30 AM running approximately 15 minutes late, whereas the Sloka-Rīga train, scheduled to depart at 6.32 AM, is delayed by about 40 minutes. Additionally, the Rīga-Tukums II service has been halted in Priedaine, adding further complications to travelers' journeys. Another train operating on the Tukums line was cancelled due to infrastructure issues, underscoring the challenges currently faced by the railway services in the region.
Moreover, bus services are also affected, with the Priedaine-Dubulti bus anticipated to be delayed by around 20 minutes. These disruptions not only highlight the operational challenges of the rail system but also indicate the potential impact on commuters, many of whom rely on these connections for their daily travel. Authorities will need to address the underlying infrastructure problems to restore reliable service on this essential transport line.
