Lesli 'N' and 5 other alleged members of Tren de Aragua were released, says 'C4 Jiménez'

Six alleged members of the Tren de Aragua gang, including Lesli 'N', have been released from custody due to lack of evidence against them.

Carlos Jiménez, a journalist and host of the program C4 en Alerta, reported that six individuals arrested in mid-January in Mexico City, associated with the Tren de Aragua gang, were released from jail. Among those released is Lesli 'N', purportedly a liaison between the Venezuelan criminal organization and La Unión Tepito, and Bryan 'N', identified as the gang's financial operator in the capital. The release comes after the prosecution's case against them reportedly fell apart.

Details regarding their arrest mentioned earlier by Omar García Harfuch, head of Mexico's Security and Citizen Protection Secretariat, highlighted that the individuals were considered suspects involved in serious crimes, including sexual exploitation. The serious charges had raised public concern regarding criminal networks operating within the capital. However, the recent turn of events has brought attention to the challenges faced by law enforcement and prosecution in holding such groups accountable.

The implications of this release are significant, as it casts doubts on the effectiveness of the authorities in curtailing organized crime in Mexico. Not only does it highlight potential issues of evidence gathering and legal proceedings, but it also raises questions among the public about the safety and enforcement capabilities of Mexican law enforcement agencies. This case could potentially encourage further scrutiny into the operations and strategies employed against organized crime in Mexico.
