One of Ben Gvir's Candidates for Police Legal Advisor: Lacks Experience and Suspected of Distributing Weapons Without Authority
A candidate for the position of legal advisor to the Israeli police, David Bavli, is under suspicion for involvement in a weapon distribution scandal and is considered unqualified for the role.
David Bavli, one of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir's candidates for the legal advisor position in the Israeli police, remains a suspect in a case involving unauthorized distribution of weapon licenses by staff in the minister's office. Although currently serving as a legislative advisor to Ben Gvir, Bavli's qualifications for the position are doubted, and it is uncertain if he will be selected. Police sources indicate that the Minister is likely more interested in another potential candidate, the legal advisor of the Israel Prison Service, Gonder Eran Nahon. The Police Commissioner, Dani Levi, prefers a candidate who is an insider within the police force.
