Sentenced person who posed as a lawyer and worked in the FGR of Querétaro
Antonio Rivas has been sentenced for using false documents to impersonate a lawyer while working as a public servant in Querétaro's FGR office.
Antonio Rivas, who was employed by the Delegation of the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) in Querétaro, has been sentenced after it was proven that he used false documents to impersonate a lawyer. The case was brought to light by a federal Public Ministry agent assigned to the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Internal Affairs (FEAI), who charged him with the potential criminal responsibility for using false documents under articles 243 and 246, section VIII of the Federal Penal Code.
Following the discovery of his deceit, Rivas opted to pursue a plea bargain to avoid a harsher sentence. As a result, the judge granted him a conditional sentence, requiring a financial guarantee; however, the amount he must pay has not been disclosed. This case raises concerns about the integrity of public institutions and the measures taken to prevent individuals from assuming fake identities and positions within government agencies.
The judicial process highlights the actions being taken against those who misuse their positions or impersonate officials, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the legal system's credibility. It also reflects a growing awareness of identity fraud in public domains, prompting a call for greater scrutiny in hiring practices within the FGR and similar organizations to prevent such incidents in the future.
