What weapons will we sell under SAFE? Government's promotional offensive abroad
A Polish government delegation is set to promote the country's arms exports in Sweden, Norway, and Italy, aiming for increased international sales of Polish weapons.
In late February and early March, a Polish government delegation, including Vice-Minister of State Assets Konrad GoΕota and Government Plenipotentiary for the Instrument for Increasing European Security Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, is scheduled to visit Sweden, Norway, and Italy. The main objective of this delegation will be to promote Polish arms exports, emphasizing the importance of not only the Polish Ministry of National Defense purchasing these products, but also encouraging other countries to buy Polish military equipment. The inclusion of representatives from the defense industry in this delegation indicates the seriousness of the task at hand.
The visits are strategically linked to the idea of joint procurement, where countries can leverage the SAFE fund for partnership opportunities in military acquisitions. Although Norway and Sweden do not utilize funds from SAFE directly, they can align their purchases with this process, potentially simplifying negotiations for buying Polish military equipment. This approach highlights Polandβs intention to expand its influence and market share in the European defense sector, particularly in light of growing security concerns in the region.
By facilitating these partnerships and promoting Polish weaponry, the government aims to bolster the national defense industry, creating more opportunities for growth in arms exports. This also reflects a broader strategy of Poland to enhance its defense capabilities while establishing itself as a key player in Europe's defense market. The implications of these actions could position Poland favorably in international defense discussions and collaborations, contributing to increased security in Europe.
