US MICRODIA ventures into Nigeria’s mobile accessories market

MICRODIA partners with Nigerian retailer MyHomeEtal Limited to enter Nigeria's growing mobile accessories market, which is projected to reach $1.17 billion by 2033.

MICRODIA, a global leader in consumer electronics, has recently made a strategic move to penetrate Nigeria’s mobile accessories market by appointing MyHomeEtal Limited as its official distributor. This partnership was officially launched in Lagos and stems from an agreement made in late 2025, aiming to leverage Nigeria’s status as Africa's largest economy and to tap into the increasing demand for mobile accessories as more consumers adopt smartphones.

The mobile accessories industry in Nigeria is witnessing significant growth, expected to rise from a valuation of approximately $0.69 billion in 2024 to $1.17 billion by 2033. This growth is fueled by the rapid increase in smartphone usage and a corresponding rise in e-commerce activities as consumers increasingly turn to online platforms for their shopping needs. The broader consumer electronics and e-commerce market is also set to cross the $10 billion mark by 2026, indicating a robust market potential for companies like MICRODIA.

As part of its market entry, MICRODIA plans to introduce its innovative SMARTAI Charging Technology, which aims to improve the charging experience by monitoring and controlling charging currents in real-time, thereby reducing stress on device batteries. This technological advancement positions the company to attract a tech-savvy consumer base in Nigeria, aligning with current trends of digitalization and enhanced consumer electronics in the region.
