OADC boosts data centre capacity with NTT deal
Open Access Data Centres expands its infrastructure capacity significantly by acquiring seven data centres in South Africa from NTT Ltd.
Open Access Data Centres (OADC) has announced a major expansion of their infrastructure capacity, increasing it to over 25 megawatts after completing the acquisition of seven data centres from NTT Ltd. in South Africa. This deal was finalized on December 31, 2025, following approval from the Competition Commission, and marks a significant growth in OADC's operations by integrating these facilities into its existing network.
The acquisition notably enhances OADC's footprint across Southern Africa, where it already operates in South Africa, Nigeria, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, making it one of the continent's largest data centre providers. CEO Dr. Ayotunde Coker emphasized that this move is aligned with their 'core-to-edge' strategy, enabling the company to meet the rising demand for digital infrastructure in the region effectively.
Furthermore, the enhanced capacity is expected to provide scalable and resilient colocation services, catering specifically to enterprise customers. This strategic investment highlights OADC's commitment to enhancing digital infrastructure in Southern Africa while positioning itself to support the growing technological needs of the continent.
