The Kebbi State Government has expressed profound grief following a boat accident in Yauri Local Government Area, which resulted in the deaths of 14 individuals, primarily women. This tragic incident occurred shortly after a wedding ceremony, when the victims were returning home. Governor Nasir Idris, known as Kauran Gwandu, has reached out to the bereaved families and the local Emirate, highlighting the pain felt across the state due to this catastrophe.

The boat capsized while en route from Gumbi village to Gwarzo village in the Ngaski Local Government Area. The wedding guests were part of a larger group that participated in the ceremony.
