The Petrolina Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) conducted a successful operation on the night of February 16, as part of its Carnival Operation, which aims to enhance security during the festive season. The operation led to the arrest of a man who was wanted for theft, with an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Court of Justice of São Paulo. The arrest took place near Parque do Povo, in the José e Maria neighborhood, where the GCM was engaged in preventive and visible patrols to ensure public safety during the celebrations.

While executing routine checks, officers identified the fugitive and confirmed the warrant for his arrest.
