In an ambitious initiative aimed at revolutionizing agriculture in Nigeria, the Federal Government has officially launched a program that will deploy 2,000 tractors to assist in mechanized farming throughout the country. This initiative is part of a larger strategy to enhance agricultural productivity and is backed by a N50 billion seed fund through the Bank of Industry for agricultural financing. During the flag-off ceremony held in Abuja, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, emphasized that this moment represents a significant turning point for agriculture under President Bola Tinubu's administration.

The program is set to be implemented in several phases, starting with the deployment of 600 tractors as part of the Renewed Hope National Agricultural Mechanisation Programme. Kyari detailed that the initiative will also feature the distribution of more than 9,000 precision farming implements to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the farming process. By mobilizing N250 billion to support smallholder farmers, the government aims to not only boost food production but also improve rural livelihoods and stimulate economic growth across the country.
