Several individuals were injured in a car explosion loaded with weapons and ammunition in the town of Qaryah, south of Sweida province.
On Monday, the Syrian news channel reported multiple injuries following an explosion from a car carrying weapons and ammunition in the town of Qaryah, located in southern Sweida province. The province of Sweida has been under a ceasefire since July of the previous year, following armed clashes between Bedouin tribes and Druze communities that resulted in numerous fatalities and injuries. In light of these tensions, the governor of Sweida, Mustafa al-Bakkour, issued a stern warning to those who use violence to suppress dissent and freedoms within the province, emphasizing that Sweida, which has historically upheld its dignity, will not tolerate governance under the law of the jungle.
Since the regime of Bashar al-Assad fell in December 2024, the government has been struggling to maintain security throughout Syria. Various armed groups have continued to incite chaos, and the Damascus government has made it clear that it will not allow such actions, stressing its determination to restore control over all regions of the country as it seeks to enforce order and stability.
