Last Sunday afternoon, a vibrant carnival murga was held in the canton of Salinas, organized by the municipality to celebrate the holiday. The parade commenced at 4:40 PM from the Malecón avenue, starting near the Colón Salinas hotel in the San Lorenzo sector and stretching towards Las Palmeras. This event highlighted the lively spirit of carnival with five dance groups dressing as garotos and garotas, showcasing festive dancing to various rhythms.
Antonela Chila, the elected queen of the carnival, alongside Salet Velázquez, participated in a themed float celebrating Valentine's Day, adorned with a heart and the message: 'Go out with love, this carnival stole my heart.' The dancers, particularly the group led by José Castro who wore angel costumes, contributed significantly to the colorful atmosphere, engaging with the audience and adding to the overall joy of the celebrations.
Additionally, the municipality's Environmental Department participated in the parade, using the opportunity to convey an awareness message to attendees about the importance of caring for the environment.
