The National Dialogue for High School Begins: The National Diploma is on a Reform Track
Greece has initiated a National Dialogue aimed at reforming the high school education system, focusing on the National Diploma and the restructuring of secondary education.
Greece is entering a phase of institutional reform for its high school system with the commencement of a National Dialogue regarding the National Diploma and new architectural plans for secondary education. This dialogue aims to address the pressing issues and create a comprehensive proposal for reform by November.
The first meeting of the committee was chaired by Michalis Sfakianakis, the President of the University of Piraeus, and attended by the Minister of Education, Religion, and Sports, Sofia Zacharakis. The Minister emphasized the importance of facilitating an open and well-informed dialogue to gather insights from various stakeholders in education, with an expectation to finalize proposals that could significantly impact the future of education in Greece.
The committeeβs composition includes prominent academics, experienced educators, and educational administration officials, reflecting a dedication to a substantive discussion grounded in evidence and practical experiences.
