Removal of debris in the building affected by the fire on Chile and Sucre

Cleanup efforts are underway following a significant fire in Guayaquil that led to substantial damage.

The Urvaseo personnel are conducting cleanup and debris removal operations following a substantial fire in downtown Guayaquil at the intersection of Chile and Sucre. The fire, classified as Alarm 3, was reported at 11:00 AM on February 15. Over 36 units and more than 100 firefighters participated in the response, along with support from several tankers and personnel from neighboring municipalities, indicating the fire's scale and severity.

As of 6:00 AM on February 16, firefighters were able to fully control the heat hotspots on the premises, allowing them to enter the affected establishments. From the aftermath of the fire, significant damage was evident in three ground-floor shops, with ruined merchandise, collapsed ceilings, and other destruction particularly prominent in the main store among the three impacted.

The incident highlights the collaborative effort required in emergency responses in urban settings, reflecting the need for coordinated teamwork among various emergency services.
